Biocant attended the 3rd Microbiome Summit

Biocant – Technology Transfer Association was represented at the Microbiome in Human Health – 3rd Microbiome PT Summit through the participation of its researcher Conceição Egas, who served as a member of the Scientific Committee, contributing to the scientific quality and strategic direction of the event.

Organised by BioData.pt, the summit took place on 15–16 April at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, in Lisbon, bringing together 159 participants from 14 nationalities over two days of scientific exchange and networking.

The scientific programme featured 9 selected short talks and 59 poster presentations, alongside outstanding international keynote lectures, invited speakers, panel discussions and dedicated networking moments. Discussions covered a broad range of perspectives, from fundamental research to translational and clinical applications. At this event, Conceição Egas also presented the latest results of the project “LUSO2health – The effect of LUSO natural mineral water intake on urolithiasis – focus on gut and urinary tract microbiota-associated inflammation”, with the poster entitled “Effect of the intake of LUSO natural mineral water on gut health and urolithiasis”.

Recent advances in microbiome science highlighted emerging concepts, innovative technologies and current challenges, reinforcing the value of scientific leadership and collaboration – closely aligned with Biocant’s mission to support knowledge valorisation and technology transfer in the life sciences.
