WHO WE ARE

Biocant – Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia (Biocant – Technology Transfer Association) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting innovation in biotechnology through the valorization of scientific knowledge and its practical application. Established within the framework of the Municipality of Cantanhede, the association has a comprehensive mission focused on building an ecosystem centered on the economic valorization of knowledge and the sustainable development of science, the economy, and society.

The Cantanhede Technology Park

Biocant Association is a private, non-profit association with over 15 years of activity that has always focused strongly on infrastructure and strategic R&D activities, such as a Biotechnology Innovation Center. Biocant Association continues to be one of the promoting and driving forces behind Biocant Park, a Science and Technology Park specialized in Biotechnology, with a unique innovation environment in this sector in Portugal.

Genoinseq is the Next Generation Sequencing Unit of Biocant. We offer massive sequencing services, bioinformatic analysis and biostatistical analysis of large-scale data.

Genoinseq has a multidisciplinary team of experts, engaged in the delivery of high quality personalized solutions to provide our clients added value results.

Microbiology Laboratory

The Microbiology Laboratory is the specialized microbiology unit of Biocant – Technology Transfer Association, and its main objectives are to carry out microbiological controls in various areas, as well as to develop research activities.

The Laboratory is accredited by IPAC (Portuguese Accreditation Institute) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) according to NP EN ISO/IEC 17025. With a dynamic team, it combines motivation with competence and professionalism to achieve a level of competitiveness that corresponds to the satisfaction of the client and the regulatory bodies applicable to its area of activity.
