Biocant attends BIO-Europe Spring

Biocant – Technology Transfer Association, in partnership with the Municipality of Cantanhede, is participating in BIO-Europe Spring, one of the largest and most important international events in the field of biotechnology, whose 20th edition is taking place at FIL, in Lisbon. Our team consists of Carlos Fernandes – board member, Mariana Melo – project manager, and Conceição Egas – researcher and coordinator of Genoinseq / Advanced Sequencing Unit. For the opening session and the institutional visit that followed, Helena Teodósio, mayor of Cantanhede and president of the Biocant association, joined Biocant’s delegation.

Given our catalytic role in boosting the national biotechnology sector, Cantanhede and Biocant could not miss out on one of the most relevant initiatives in this field, which, over the past two decades, has established itself as one of the municipality’s strategic priorities. To this end, they will be present at the national booth, alongside entities such as AICEP—Portugal’s Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade, Tourism of Portugal, and ANI/AI2—the National Innovation Agency / Agency for Research and Innovation.

BIO-Europe Spring is an annual event that brings together thousands of industry leaders for business meetings, networking, discussions on trends and challenges, as well as a variety of presentations showcasing the industry’s latest and most innovative solutions. The event serves as a global meeting point for startups, pharmaceutical companies, investors, researchers, and government entities, focusing on establishing strategic collaborations and facilitating approximately 20,000 one-on-one meetings for this purpose.
