Bishop of Coimbra Visits Biocant

Biocant – Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia accompanied an institutional visit to the Biocant ecosystem today, as part of the 𝗗𝗶𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮’s new cycle of pastoral visits at the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁.

The visit marked the start of 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮, 𝗗. 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶́𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀’ pastoral tour, an initiative designed to strengthen connection, community, and dialogue with local institutions and communities. During his engagement with civil society, the Bishop expressed particular interest in the work being carried out in scientific research and innovation.

The program included a brief presentation of Biocant and visits to companies within the ecosystem, including Crioestaminal and CarboCode. These interactions showcased applied research and innovative business projects, while providing a space for reflection and dialogue on the relationship between science, technology, and society.

Throughout the visit, Biocant – Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia was present as a key ecosystem facilitator, emphasizing its role in fostering collaboration, promoting scientific knowledge, and connecting research with innovation and society.
