April 24, 2026P-BIO – Portuguese Bioindustry Association – recently held its General Assembly at the Palácio Flor da Murta in Paço de Arcos (Oeiras), where the new governing bodies for the 2026–2028 term were elected and took office. “Biocant – Technology Transfer Association” remains on P-Bio’s governing bodies, serving on the Supervisory Board through its executive director, Carlos Fernandes, while the presidency of the Board of Directors is now assumed by a strategic partner of the association, Biocant Park S.A., in the person of its Director of Innovation and Ecosystem Development, Joana Branco.
The newly elected governing bodies are as follows:

The new composition of the governing bodies reflects the diversity of Portugal’s biotechnology ecosystem, bringing together representatives from technology parks, major pharmaceutical multinationals, growing portuguese companies, and leading academic spin-offs. P-BIO represents more than 45 entities in the life sciences sector in Portugal, ranging from biotech startups and SMEs to multinational pharmaceutical companies, technology parks, and research institutions. The association’s mission is to promote the competitive development of the Portuguese biotechnology industry and position it as a European leader in innovation in the fields of health, sustainable agriculture, and industrial biotechnology.
